ABOUT
COMPOSER - ARRANGER - ORCHESTRATOR
Friedrich Gattermann is a German composer and orchestrator currently located in Hanover. His works include compositions for media and concert music. His musical style blends orchestral elements with electronics creating a mixture between contemporary music and film music. Gattermann´s musical influences range from film music classics like Bernhard Hermann and Jerry Goldsmith to contemporary composers such as Peteris Vasks and Volker Bertelmann and jazz artists Maria Schneider and Vince Mendoza. In his work he tries to mix those different influences into his own personal style.
MEDIA
Gattermann worked on several library music productions together with Moritz Bintig for labels like SONOTON, WARNER CHAPPELL MUSIC, NINJA TRACKS, ATOM MUSIC AUDIO and many more. So far they released over seven whole albums ranging from trailer productions to modern orchestral scores.
FILM
Friedrich worked on his first feature film „SCHLEUDERTRAUM“ in 2021. From then he scored lots of short films and is currently working on another feature. He collaborated with the FILMORCHESTER BABELSBERG back in 2021 and successfully participated in many contests:

In addition to his film scores, Friedrich works as a demo artist for ORCHESTRAL TOOLS. His most recent demos include the official launch trailer for the Peteris Vasks Strings library.

VIDEO GAMES
Gattermann participated in the VIDEO GAMES MUSIC BOOTCAMP in 2022/23 and was awarded with the „Gecko´s Choice Award“ as the standout participate. He is currently working on a video game project.

CONCERT MUSIC
Gattermann´s concert music works range from jazz composition for big bands to contemporary music for orchestras. He participated in the „Young Conductors And Composers Workshop“ in collaboration with the NDR BIG BAND in Hamburg in 2021. His most recent composition is a jazz piece for double big band. COMMERCIAL
Friedrich Gattermann scored the official promotional short of the „Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover“ for the 50th year anniversary of the music college. He also contributed his music to the commercial short „Whispers in the Shelves“ in collaboration with the LANDESMUSEUM HANNOVER.

BIO
Friedrich Gattermann was born in northern Germany in 2002. From his early days he was very interested in music and soon began to learn to play the accordion, the piano and the french horn.
He gathered international experience in different genres such as chamber music, classical music and jazz. Friedrich was a former member of the Landesjugendjazzorchester of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern sharing the stage with jazz legends like NILS LANDGREN and EDGAR HERZOG. He also was the keyboarder of the band „Highheels Sneakers“ which won „SchoolJam“ band contest, Germany´s biggest contest for school bands, back in 2019. The band performed at the Hurricane and Southside festivals and was awarded with an exclusive recording session at ABBEY ROAD INSTITUTE.
In 2020 Friedrich graduated from school and began to study jazz composition in Hannover at the „Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover“ with Prof. Dr. Raphael D. Thöne and Hauke Berheide. From then he participated in several workshops with ANNE-KATHRIN DERN, MARIA SCHNEIDER, FLORIAN ROSS, SNARKY PUPPY, CHRIS POTTER, FRED HERSCH and many more.
Currently Friedrich is working on his graduation from music college.
